Amusing Family

I thought I'd throw one in of my bagpipe playing District Leader, Elder Yount
If your mission was to make me laugh out loud in the public library today, it was accomplished :) First with Suzanne's matchmaking ideas and then with your ornery R.S. president story (which I completely agree with) and Sunday School story, and then with Dad's comment of the waste of a perfectly good white guy :) I love my family. I feel sorry for people that don't have as amusing families as I do. So you liked my postcards? I thought you might. I sent similar ones every other day to Rick in the MTC. Hey, can you send postcards to Honduras?

Thank you so much for working on your conversion stories for me! I didn't mean to make you cry, mom. But I'm sure looking forward to reading them!

I've had a similar awakening about home and visiting teachers on my mission. There's a quote in Preach my Gospel by one of the Prophets that says that Home and Visiting Teaching is really just missionary work to those that are already members of the church. And it's so true, if home and visiting teachers would take their job more seriously, it would make not only the Bishop and Relief Society President’s job easier, but the missionaries as well. Because so often the missionaries end up doing the job of home and visiting teachers in trying to reactivate less actives, when it would be so much more effective if the members themselves would do it, but usually the missionaries are the only ones willing to go out of their way to do something about them. I think I've said this before, but being a missionary really makes you appreciate all the behind the scenes things that go into running a ward. I liked your analogy of Moses trying to solve everyone's problems.

I'm sorry about Kristi's ankle, I hope it gets better soon! That's no fun... At least she didn't sprain her ankle getting dumped out of a dump truck. That's exciting that Mike and Dad finished that. And I'm glad wearing all of your many hats hasn't gotten to you, Mom. You're amazing! I have the greatest mom ever. Oh, and I have gotten to watch the documentary. You're right, it definitely doesn't win any prizes for presentation, but the information makes up for it. You're right, it just makes sense and I found myself interested the whole time. So I think we should all take a road trip when I get home and tour my mission and the Book of Mormon lands :) We're really struggling at getting things going here in Marietta, so I'm sorry I haven't had too much to say about what I've been up to and the area. But it's coming, don't worry, and great things will happen here! Thanks for everything you do! Love you all!
